Fred Pittman, 56, of Norman, died Saturday, July 21, at home. There will be a celebration of his life 3 p.m. Wednesday at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel. Internment will follow at Warren Cemetery in Norman. Mr. Pittman requested a gathering of all his friends and family at his home after the service.

Mr. Pittman was born June 16, 1951, in Ardmore to Bobby and Maxine (James) Pittman. He graduated from Norman High School in 1969 and attended college in Germany and the United States. He met Sandra Sanabria in 1979 at their 10-year class reunion. The couple were married in 1980 in Las Vegas.

Mr. Pittman was an avid hunter and also served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War with rank of E5. He served from Oct. 5, 1972, to Aug. 29, 1978, as a supply/logistical specialist.

Mr. Pittman established Silver Fox Heat and Air, which continues to thrive today. Mr. Pittman continued to operated the business until January 2007. He was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family members said.

Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Maxine Pittman, sister-in-law Jane Pittman; and father-in-law Edward Sanabria, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra of the home; son Thomas Pittman, wife Jamie and grandchildren Jazmin and Jaden; brother Richard Pitman and wife Nina of Norman; brothers and sisters-in-law Ed and Pamela Sanabria of Naples, Fla., Pam and Bill Harkins of Allen, Texas, Mary Ellen Risinger of Norman, Gloria and Paul Mills of Noble, Chris and Diana Sanabria of College Station, Texas, Linda and Rob Roberts of Norman, Julie and Mark Cooper of Norman; nieces and nephews Matt and Jan Elizabeth Sanabria, Melissa Harkins, Jake Peery, Jan Richard Risinger, Jennifer, Stephen and Michael Vickery, Rachel Sanabria, Josh and Maria Roberts, Zac and Lauren Cooper and Ezra Pittman.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Oklahoma County, 4334 N.W. Expressway, Ste. 106, Oklahoma City, OK 73116.

Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
